High Country Highlands is now offering Highland Beef for sale to the public.
We are currently working with Frank Silva of Silva's Highlands in Erie,
Colorado to provide 100% pure, premium, ranch raised Colorado beef. Our
beef is all natural, we never include hormones, steroids or Animal
By-products in our beef program. Our Steers are finished on corn, peas,
sunflower seeds, alfalfa hay, vitamins & minerals and cool clean water.
Once finished, our Steers are processed humanely in the cleanest of
environments and then hung and dry aged for a minimum of 21 days. Jay
and Karen Archer of Steving Meat Processing in Kersey, Colorado does an
outstanding job for us, you can call them at 970.356.2333 for your own
processing needs, you won't be disappointed!
All our beef is USDA inspected in house at Steving Meats. A "Finished" beef
comes in around at 500 or so pounds. We pay a little more to have the beef
double plastic and shrink wrapped, this insures that your beef will last a good
long time in the freezer. But in our experience, the beef is consumed pretty
quickly once people find out just how flavorful and delicious it is!
We sell our beef at $6.00 per "Finished" pound in 1/4, 1/2 or if you are
wanting more, we can give you a discount on a whole beef. Our price is
typically less than the Big Chain Supermarkets and you get the benefit of
knowing where your beef is coming from. Not from some feed lot in God
knows where, in this day and age that's a valid concern.....
In fact you can rest assured, our ranch has a premises ID with the Colorado
Dept. of Agriculture as well as with the National Identification System.
So our beef can be traced from our ranch to your table, it's our guarantee.
